Lisa Jones


Director, Responsible Individual and CQC Registered Manager.   Lisa is a Registered Nurse (RN Dip HE) who qualified in 2002 and has been working within the healthcare field since the early 1990s.  Until 31.12.09 Lisa successfully managed a leading healthcare agency until she decided to launch Battlefield Healthcare. Lisa worked at the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital on a busy Coronary Care Unit and general medical ward for 6 years.  She has also worked as a Registered Nurse within homecare since 2005. Lisa has successfully completed her Leadership and Management in Care NVQ Level 5 and her City and Guilds course called PTLLS (Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector) to enhance the training that she will be delivering.  Lisa has also qualified as a basic life support, first aid and moving and handling trainer/assessor to HSE standards. Lisa is also a qualified MAPA trainer (Management of Actual and Potential Aggression). Lisa is the current Registered Manager with CQC (Care Quality Commission) for Battlefield Healthcare Limited.

Mandy Woolfenden


Manager and CQC Nominated Individual Mandy’s first experience of care was as an informal carer at the age of 13 and this has continued on/off throughout her life, supporting and caring for family and friends when in need. Mandy has supported individuals with a range of conditions, illnesses and disabilities. In 1994 I moved on from my informal role and began my professional career in care supporting Adults experiencing Learning Disabilities, visual impairment and mental health issues in Shrewsbury. During a long career Mandy has worked in a variety of settings with various Service User groups. Mandy has met some fantastic and inspirational individuals along the way and her passion was to provide care and support that focused on the individual, shaped by their input through choices, preferences and ability. I’m a believer in the notion to “treat others as you would like to be treated” Mandy strives to apply that to her professional practice too. I joined Battlefield in 2011, initially as a “Live-In Carer” and eventually joining into the office team in 2013 I have now been given the opportunity to develop my professional career within the managerial role which can be challenging and exciting all at the same time. Working for a company that shares my value base is important and I love the fact that my role encourages me to learn every day, from courses, colleagues and our Service Users. Academically I have completed my honours degree in Psychology & Sociology in 1994. I completed 2½ years of a Social Work Degree in 2011 but left due to the demands of working in Child Protection. I have gained my QCF (Qualifications and Credit Framework) Level 5 in Leadership & Management in Health and Social Care whilst at Battlefield Healthcare and I continue to attend and complete training sessions or courses on a regular basis.

Mark Giles


Finance Officer at Battlefield Healthcare I Joined Battlefield Healthcare in 2012. I have done a small amount of support in the earlier years but my time is now taken up by overseeing the finances. I am solely responsible for collecting and processing time sheets, raising invoices, processing payments, credit control and I facilitate company purchases. I Collect and enter data for the various financial spreadsheets making sure all calculations and data entries are correct. I liaise with the commissioning authorities, HMRC (Tax Authority), Service Users, staff and suppliers to ensure the smooth running Battlefield Healthcare’s financial systems. Working at Battlefield has allowed me the opportunity to learn about how a business functions and to develop the wide range of skills required before progressing into business management.

Dee Purcell


Senior Care Co-ordinator I have been involved in the Customer Service sector since1995 and enjoyed a variety of job roles. In 2012 I was in need of a new challenge and found myself at Battlefield Healthcare as a Care and Support worker. Since then I have really enjoyed working with such varied individuals. Respecting people is so important to me and it is vital that everyone who needs care and support gets it. I have a passion for fighting injustice and making a difference to people’s lives for them or with them is special. I get so much enjoyment from working with adults and children who experience learning disabilities, it is so rewarding. I also work with adults and children with complex health needs, those requiring support, others who require care and I have worked with both adults and children in need of palliative care. I have completed lots of training throughout my time at Battlefield Healthcare and I have now obtained my NVQ level 3 in Health and Social Care, Level 2 in Autism Awareness, Team Leadership and Mental Health Awareness courses. I joined the office team in 2014 as a part time care co-ordinator and have since become a full time senior care co-ordinator. I have recently completed training in Basic First Aid and Life Support so I am able to deliver training to other staff within our team. I am hoping to complete my Level 5 Leadership and Management in Health and Social Care next.
